Story and Comments.: it was the first weekend of the IL bow season and i had planned to still hunt my way to my treestand. i had gone about 150 yards down a pipeline clearing when i noticed the outline of a deer drinking from the creek to my right, which was about 60 to 70 yards away. as i caught a glimpse of antler i knew he was a good buck, so i started to try and close the distance, after a brief stalk i had gotten to within 30 yards and got ready for the shot. as the buck turned broadside i drew and released. the 100 grain muzzy passed through both lungs and he only went 30 yards before dropping. i did'nt realize just how great he was until then. with a 23 inch inside spread he gross scores 163 and nets 160 3/8
