Story and Comments.: Any deer that scores over 130 in this part of the state will almost always make headlines. This deer's story spread like wildfire through cell phones and word of mouth and now the internet. This buck was corralling several does and Doug saw horns coming over the top of the broomstraw. One shot from his .300 WIN MAG put his trophy down, and the rest is history. This is the biggest racked buck ever taken in this hunting club since it was started almost 40 years ago. Doug, who has been a member since 1975, hunts 4 to 5 days a week during the season and does not take small bucks. He has numerous mounts that most of us would be proud to display, but this is his largest N.C. BUCK. I am proud to say that Doug is my cousin and I have been chasing this guy around the woods since I was about 3 feet tall and he has taught me alot. I can only hope (AS WE ALL CAN) that a buck of this caliber crosses my path sometime in the future.
