Story and Comments.: My son, who was home on leave from the Air Force, came home to hunt with me opening day. At 1:45 I heard him shoot and he radioed me that he had a doe down. I was congratulating him over the radio when I heard the rustle of a running animal. I slipped the radio into my pocket, shouldered my .308 when this seven point came running directly at me at about 90 yards. While my son was still talking on the radio, I put the scope on him hoping at some point he would turn and lucky for me he turned left to escape down a ravine. As soon as he made that left hand turn, I squeezed off one shot. He immediately collapsed. What a thrill to share that experience with my son as we both got a deer within 30 seconds of each other
