Story and Comments.: We had a great season last year, great weather and finally got my buck on the second last day of the season. This was the biggest deer I have ever harvested and estimate that he was around 300 pounds, and he is a fair size as can be seen in the photo (as I am 6' , 175 lbs). I usually still hunt on the ground using grunts, but this guy surprised me after lunch, and he was right out in the open, a lucky break. Forgot to mention, it was a rifle hunt and was hunting with a 1957 .243 Savage 99 F Lever action. A decent 10 point rack and a great looking buck was the result!
