Story and Comments.: Jason Boyko luzurne county Pa. Oct 14 2002 7 yards away 10 point I'm from Dickson City Pa. I got this buck in Luzurne County on October 14th. I watched this buck since June 0f 2002. On the evening of October 14th I got into my tree stand about 2:30 PM for the evening. I sat until 5:00pm without seeing anything. Then 4 doe and a big 4 pointer entered the field below me about 60 yards away. I sat on top of a ridge, of the side of the field, at 5:30 the big 10 pointer showed up in the field but cut down below me so I had no shot. Thinking I had no chance at him, I was getting edgy when, something spooked the deer in the field. All the doe and the 4 pointer cut low and to the right of me. Just when I thought everything was messed up here come the 10 pointer straight up the ridge right at me. I drew back as he climbed the ridge and just as he came to the crest he stopped to look back into the field where he came from. That was the split second I needed. He was 7 yards away and broadside. I fired and watched in slow motion as the arrow hit the buck, with an almost perfect shot. I hit 3 inches high and right on the mark. He bolted like lightning. Thinking I was in for a hard track, since he headed for thick undergrowth, I started down from the tree. I didn't go right on his trail at first; I wanted to see if by some chance he went across another field to my backside. I walked into the field and 70yrd away was the buck lying in the field dead. He only made it about 90yds total. Needless to say, I was excited beyond belief. Never did I think I would even see a buck like this while hunting, much less get him in archery. I shot a hoyt bow, Easton 2117 arrows, and 4 blade 100gr. muzzys.
