Wow what a day of hunting, I scouted out this new area in Tampa Fl, and found some nice trails. Tuesday I brought my new lock on stand to setup on the trail. I had made alot of noise trying to set up the stand but i finally got settled in about 6:45. Around 8:05 here comes a deer, and it was a buck! He came in behind me and walked around onto a trail thats 22 yards in front of me. I tried to get him to stop by doing a mouth grunt. When he heard me he stopped and started to back up. Thats when i released my arrow and he somehow move out of the way and the arrow skimmed the top of his neck. He Had no idea what had hit him and was even thinking about coming back. He turned and walked back into the woods. I was so upset and could not believed i missed him. I went back to the house but could not wait any longer. I sat in the stand from 11:00 tell 4:00 when he amazingly showed up again. He was really alert and even walked behind me to check the wind. THen he slowly made his way back to the same trail. I settled my 20 yard pin behind the shoulder and made a great shot. He ran about 100 or so yards and was down! It was a great hunt and my 1st archery deer, and my biggest
