Year of Harvest: 2011 Month Of Harvest.: October Time of Harvest: 6:30 PM Story and Comments.: The night before this buck was taken, there were 13 doe in the field feeding before dark. I noticed two huge bucks walking the tree line toward the doe. I was 85 yards away from the field that night, wishing I had set up closer to the field. This got my blood pumping. I knew I had to make adjustments the following night and place myself where I had seen the bucks from the previous night. I set up on the edge of the field on a tree line. I was a little worried that they might skyline me. I cut branches off the tree I climbed and stuck them in my tree stand to break up my pattern. I made sure I had good cover and was down wind from their location. I placed a bottle of tinks 20 yards away in the field where I wanted to take my shot. I prayed to God for me to have a safe hunt, and an opportunity to harvest a buck. I was grunting two to three times every 15 min. From the corner of my eye I saw a deer walking the tree line towards my tinks bottle. I grunted two more times and this buck headed straight towards my tinks placing his nose right in the bottle. I made a perfect shot. He ran 45 yards into the field and dropped over. I got out of my tree stand and went home to give him time to die. Two hours later we returned and he was in the same spot. RAGE BROADHEADS are the real deal... Special thanks to the Berghenti's, Flick, The Judge, and Bre for helping me get this great buck back to the house. It should score high 130's gross, maybe break 140. All my scouting, adjustments, and determination made this a dream hunt.
