Story and Comments.: This Deer came from the Colville national forest. I had been on watch over a natural meadow until aprox. 0930 Nothing had came out so I started to still hunt back in to the timber. After about one hour of this I was moving over this finger ridge and we saw each other at the same time. He had been rubbing those double brow tines on a four inch pine He stopped rubbing and not even a glance in my direction took off and ran broadside to me behind lots of brush. He then turned away and uphill, he thought he was behind a large pine tree and started to slow down. That is when I was able to make my shot. I feel very fortunate to have shared this hunt with two good friends.
