Story and Comments.: On 11/16/2006, I decided to give deer season another go as I had already taken 2 does during archery. I had thought before I would take the does and be done, but I work at an Elementary that borders an animal refuge & when they cut the corn I watched 4-6 bucks that would score over 130" every night! It got my hurt pumped back into going again this year! Well, as I posted on the Primos site this morning I said it would probably be a nice night! Well, it wasn't a nice night... It was an EXCELLENT night! Went into my stand on a nice cloudy day, those rut crazed bucks couldn't be too far away I think to myself... well... what seemed like an eternity, I rattled after being in my stand for 20 minutes and nothing.... about an hour later I try again, its now 2:15 pm in the afternoon I decide to rattle & grunt again.... So I rattle even harder this time for about 3 minutes and grunt at the same time, no longer then 1 minute after I finished rattling I notice a buck not more then 70 yards from me, it was the nice 8 pointer I had been hearing about all season and never got a glimpse of him! Not to mention on my way in I noticed giant hoof prints and 2 scrapes that were being used by him! He stops 40 yards & not to mention he came downwind of me and didnt care & I let off a shot! BANG! He runs right toward me... again! BANG! Still going.... one more! BANG!! He drops deader then a doornail, I was so excited and started calling everyone! He ran only about 30 yards from the stand, called my dad & had him bring the tractor with the cart out to the field & I called it a day!! What an awesome ending to another great year! My heart & devotion goes out to all the Primos staff, as well as the message board members for all your great tips and friendly people!! Thanks everyone!!
