Story and Comments.: It was cold and raining for most of the morning. My scope kept fogging up and when this buck trailed a doe onto a logging road 35 yards from my stand, my safety was frozen on. I finally got it off and managed to clear my scope as he was turning to go back down the logging road. I stopped him with a grunt call and shot him through the heart. He ran about 25 yards. When we got him field dressed we found that he had a puncture wound in the front of his chest, which was infected, the meat was no good, and he had lost a lot of weight. He also broke off most of his points. My son Sonny is in the picture with me.
