Story and Comments.:
As I headed into the woods, I had one person on my mind.

The Late Paul “Bogie” Biel. We had lost Bogie On the opening Day OF THE 2010 Buck season.
Bogie who was an avid outdoorsman and who had been hunting the hills of Wilcox as long as I can remember.
Bogie had shot a buck on this 2010 opening day and had called his son Jeff on his cell phone to tell him that he just hit a buck. When his son Jeff arrived, Jeff found that his Dad had passed on.
This news had hit us local hunters hard.

The next day Jeff went into the woods to recover his Dads last Buck.
As Jeff was cleaning his Dad’s last deer, In walks a nice buck, There is no doubt who drove this deer to Jeff.
Jeff picked up his rifle and shot the nice buck.
Yep, Heaven will have to wait until the 2010 buck season is over before Bogie will be arriving.

As I entered the woods on this day Thursday, It was the first day I was able to get out hunting since the opening day.
I kept thinking about Bogie and how I would no longer Run into him in the woods and talk about the deer and the lack of.
I was going to miss Bogie.
I felt as Bogie was still in these woods and I had a great feeling this day. I really did!!

At about 8:00 I call my brother and told him where I was in the woods.
I told him to come and meet me and I would try and push a thick area and maybe drive a deer to him.

As my brother was set, I pushed through the thick area, not really looking for deer but trying to drive a buck to my brother.
I looked ahead and there was this monster. I could not believe it!!
He looked right at me, I was waiting for him to run, but he didn’t.
He was standing in a patch of briers that were as tall as he was.
Then to my surprise the buck looks forward and just walks right out of the briers. What!!!!!!!!!! This is unreal;
I put my open sight 30.30 to my shoulder and squeeze a shot off and down he goes.

Yep, Heaven will have to wait until the 2010 buck season is over before Bogie will be arriving.

Thank you my friend, We will miss you!
