Story and Comments.: It was the second day of Iowa's Second Season for shotgun. We had 3 people pushing, and 3 people posting. I was having a few deer run along my way, but no shooters. All of the sudden I saw about 10 does walking just to my right. After looking for a few minutes, I saw another group of about 15 deer; this group had 1 small buck in it. After looking at the deer through the Binoculars, I decided to shoot at the small buck. He was just about to an opening and I saw something out of the corner of my eye. Here came the old man following another group of about 15 deer. He walked in the same path as all the other deer. I took my first shot and dropped him like a rock, but then he got up and started running but he was out of my sight because of a tree. So I got stood up and moved a little and here he came right at me. He saw me, Snorted, and turned. I shot 4 more time and made him buckle 2 of those shots. After he ran over the hill, I was a cursin' and a swearin', but I noticed that I had a good blood trail. My Dad and Niece were sitting about ¼ mile away from me, and he ran towards them, They both got a shot off at him but missed, He crossed the river and stood at the top of the bank on the other side. My dad looked through his binoculars and watched him as he started to sway and then fall over.

This was my 13th year for deer hunting and the by far the biggest one that I have shot yet. But, if that wasn’t enough to make this Deer season the best for me, the second to the last day of the season, I shot yet another 11 pointer, just a bit smaller than this one. Two 11-pointers for me this year, I am ready to go again next year!
