Story and Comments.: My dad and I went deep into the woods until we came to a big clump of hemlock trees. We got closer and heard a gun shot only a few hundred yards in front of us. We stopped and listened for awhile. Nothing. So we continued until we got to our spot. And the waiting started. We were there for a few hours. By then we were disappointed. But just when we were about to give up, a few dozen deer came running through the woods. My dad spotted a small buck. The buck stopped about 20 yards in front of us giving me a near perfect shot. I hesitated thinking of how small his antlers were, (I didn't see the antlers at first because of its huge ears), but I finally decided to take him (good since I didn't see anymore deer the rest of that season.) He ran about 60 yards and dropped. He was about a year and a half with his 3 point half rack. We were dragging him out and soon came upon two hunters. It turns out that the shot we heard before was from one of them. I could have had a beautiful 8 point if we had been there a little earlier, but I'm more than happy. This was my third deer, second buck, but first ever shot with my dad. Please rate my buck! Thanks everyone!
