Year of Harvest: 2003 Time of Harvest: 9:00 Story and Comments.: On the first morning of the 2003 rifle season, I left my truck in the direction of a very thick laurel patch on top of Laurel MT. in Westmoreland county. I crawled through this thicket with my tree stand looking for just the right tree. It was very windy and cold. I found the tree I was looking for and climbed to about 25 feet. I could look down into the laurel and I could also see four other hunters surrounding the patch I was hunting. I saw three does feeding and someone shot at them. I noticed two bucks trailing the does and one of them cut off and headed straight for the thick stuff. I let the buck come in to about 40 yards and I put the scope of my 257 Weatherby Mag. on his neck and made the right shot.
