You need to see this pic of the 1185 red foxes taken by Phil Brown of PA this season! He actually got 1202, but some were mangey and some bit up by dogs. He also got 2 coyotes on his fox line. Oh and all with foot traps and dirtholes, and a 24 hour check.

With all of the coyotes that we have, I didn't know that we had that many foxes left in Pa. I guess that we are short a few more now!!!!!

I recieved this in and email and dont know him personally. I was told he traps in SE Pa and got these over a 3 month period. I was told that fox populations cycle about every 5 years. They will go from low populations to high during this cycle and I guess it is genetically programmed for this cycle and was told we are in the high part of the cycle.. I dont know how true this is but I have seen more then ever in the past seasons. Ive been meaning to look into this but havent had time. I do know this......Im buying some traps............. I dont know the going rate on fox pelt but if you figure he gets 20.00 each thats almost 24 thousand dollars.
Not bad for a part time gig.

Did anyone else notice that there are rows of pelts on the roof of the building (appears to be a barn). Does that seem a bit odd to anyone? I think this pic may have been manufactured.

They do look a little large for fox. It is hard to believe if you figure 1202 foxes in 90 days is about 13-14 per day. Some don't get that per year. But I'm not informed enough about fox trapping to say it's definately not true.
Maybe Neville can shed some light. I'll ask him.

i read an article on the guy and i believe he has hundreds and hundreds of traps and does this for a living, I'll try and find the article and post it.

It was in Outdoor Life or one of those magazines, I will try to find it and scan it down, it all seems legit, he does it for a living, and Mickey is right, its hundreds and hundreds of traps

I found it in the June/July issue of outdoor life. He averages 190 miles each day driving for his traps, it says he owns more then 5000 traps. His best catch of the day was 30 foxes in 90 sets. His trap line runs in Chester and Lancaster counties.
