Ok I am a girl! I have a 243 Gun! What do you use and what do you think is best for a girl to use! Also any tips for a first time girl deerhunter!

I have a 30.06 & a 7mm. I love the 30.06, but I also enjoy the 7mm. I think that the best thing to do is find what feels right to you. If you are uncomfortable with your gun, you aren't going to shoot well. As far as tips go, learn your sport. Do as much reading and scouting as you can in the off season. Get to know your woods. The more you know, the better off you will be (that kinda goes with anything now doesn't it!)!

A .243 is a good deer rifle, nothing wrong with what you are shooting at all. You also have to ask what type of action are you more partial to, pump,lever single shot or bolt action. Then we may be able to recommend a caliber. Also if you are a more petite girl you may not want to lug around a heavier rifle, plus it will hinder your acuuracy while trying to steady on your target. I myself like to still hunt for hours on end but I also am not affraid to walk either. A heavier gun will wear you out while walking. And hunting is not for the impatient, especially these days.

[antlers] Ok Yall I got one! We went to Oconee County WMA on October 17 2008 on October 19 I shot my first deer He was a button buck! I cried then I laugh then I had to come out of those woods I was shaking so bad! [thumbup]
