Got to my area for an afternoon hunt on Wednesday. Planned on hunting Wednesday thru Saturday if need be. Put a couple of stands up, one for morning hunts and one for afternoon hunts. Both areas had acorns to draw them in. Didn't figure to see anything the first night as I made lots of racket putting stands in and got pretty sweaty doing so. Next morning I was on post before daylight. I had studied the weather forecast the night before and figured given the chance, I was taking the first good doe I saw. Long about quarter past nine, movement below me caught my attention. Two deer were feeding on the acorns and were slowly working towards me. Studied the first one I could see good and saw she was an adult doe. Didn't want to rush it and saw they were getting closer, so I watched them for near ten minutes as I waited for the right moment. The moment came when she was thirty yards away enjoying her last acorn. When the smoke cleared she was on a thirty-five yard run to find her final resting place.
