Just acquired a Savage 99E lever gun in .308.

Guy at work had it, and well, he gave it to me let's say. Has a lil bit of rust in the chamber and the barrel was very dirty, but it looks pretty good. I am going to pick away the rust in the chamber although a dose of Hoppes eliminated most of it without physical force. The bluing on the gun was decent, and no visible rust on the barrel, lever or receiver. Had the original factory mounts and open sights.

The stock though is worn. No damage just needs sanded down and restained etc. The trigger is SUPER light. Anxious to get this project started and completed.

Great advice Aqualung. I have seen guys destory the vaule of a gun just to make them shine or work. They thought they were improving the guns vaule, but really they destroyed it.
