I am in a pickle. My camp recently went through some DRASTIC changes in the landscape. By this I mean 7 windmills went up and a few new roads were put in. The road completely eliminated my stand of oaks where I was planning on sitting this season. Figures. I have noe clue where to sit. I may just put my stand against a tree on the road and wait for the deer to cross. It's a hundred feet wide, and I could probably shoot 700 yds. I just don't know

How far are you willing to travel? From what I've seen in the SGL's in eastern PA there's pretty good deer numbers. I dunno if the hunting will be the same come rifle season though.

Someone once said if you sit in the parking lot of a game land you'll see lot's of deer! [Slap Floor] Sorry, couldn't resist. [Laughing7]
Seriously though, is this the only spot you have? Is this the first you've been to camp since last year? How many in your camp were displaced by this action? I guess we can assume it's private land, right?

Yep. It's private. I won't travel anywhere else to hunt, at least not the first 3 days. Too much fun. My best hunting buddy has a mill dead on hi spot. I tried to find a ratchet strap big enough to wrap around it and hang his stand form the tower, but it would be like 20 straps.

I really think I am going to put a stand up along the road and watch the road. I will try to post a pic of the road and mills but they are VERY large.
