Well, its not much, but its something.

-Harvest mature animals, no yearlings.
-Plant late season food plots to help them from starving.
-Coyote control. See, i have heard the coyotes help the herd by taking out the weak ones, but im sure they take out a whole lot of healthy ones too. I trap and you should too!
-Turn in poachers, obviously. Nothing makes me more mad than roadhunters and unethical hunters.
-Shoot to kill, not to just hit the deer.
-Always assume you hit the deer and never give up looking untill you are certain you missed.

I agree with all of you.

I will go one step further.

Close Doe season for two years.

Reduce archery season to two weeks.

Make all WMU's 4 points to one side.

Bring back the county system for doe license at the end of two years.

Reduce the number of deer allowed to be shot to 1

If it is brown and down - your season is over.

I have only ever seen one coyote in my area and it was such a slight glimpse that I did not have time to shoot.
At the same time, another family member was hunting deer - and saw one and did not shoot and said to me - what will it hurt. Another one of those educated dummies with a college education and no common sense.

The problem with trying to shoot all the coyote's is that you can't.
First - if you see one - they are always running, you never see one standing still like a fox.
Second is the fact that they will travel as much as 20 miles a night.
So there is no way to eliminate them, as fast as you shoot one - there might be two more in your area - as long as there is something for them to eat.

So the next step needs to be get rid of the owls, foxes, hawks
Reintroduce small game season as a premier hunting sport and get the kids involved.
The only way to change one season is to have another season that can take it's place.
As long as you have so many predators, you are always going to have a problem recruiting new hunters - because if there is no small game for them to hunt - what makes you think that they are going to be interested in big game - if there is no deer to hunt.

Most rabbits sits 50 feet from it's hole and 100 feet from the nearest house - because of all the owls, foxes, coyote, and hawks.
Since you have to be 150 yards from the nearest house - most hunting opportunities for small game tends to be within the safety zone - which is not allowed.
So that is the reason why most kids to day do not want to hunt, a lack of opportunities to hunt small game, which is where the real gun handling opportunities lies. You can shoot 4 rabbits in a day - but only one deer a year. Get a kid to shoot 4 rabbits and he / she won't want to go hunting boring old deer.
