Deer were mismanaged for to many years in Pa. Mostly because of [Crying or Very sad] traditionist.

[eyes11] Yeah, what are we thinking. The wildlife management community should have notified the PGC that no matter what techniques they use to manage the wildlife for Pennsylvanian's, they first need to check with the stone family to make sure their traditions, that have been around since Columbus landed, aren't disrupted in any way.
In turn the PGC should contact all working hunters whom have very limited time afield, and have them insist to their employer's that they give them either more time off or more vacation, based on the stone families traditional days afield.

Are you starting to see how silly and self centered your comment is that you want to ignore the wants of other hunters and the needs of wildlife managers just so you can have the seasons revolve around you?
I give these outlandish but true(to make it work) scenarios to illustrate the lack of logic in your comment, but it would be a whole lot easier if you wanted to be objective about this issue and have a serious discussion about it and the legitimate reasons for it, instead of wanting the world to revolve around you and your traditions, which btw are not the same as everyone elses. All traditions have starts and stops, they come and go. It's part of life. Get over it and start your own.

Stone,

I have no response for you.

To all the other readers,

I apologize for temporarily getting off subject. I was attempting to explain to someone they shouldn't assume how LE is to conduct their work. I believe I also pointed out (agreed) with this person that certain actions(abuse) by LE is unacceptable.

How it is they assume I have a chip on my shoulder, I don't know. I'm proud of what I do and anytime someone has "comments" concerning how my brothers conduct themselves, I will defend them unless I know the whole story and they were wrong.

Since we don't know the whole story behind the encounters this person had, I felt it necessary to explain a few things. Based on what they tell us, their complaint was fair enough but their reactions to them were disrespectful in their own right and very well may have been part of the problem from the begining. They already assumed how LE is to perform the job and since they didn't admit to being a LE officer, I have a hard time believing they truly KNOW.

From this point forward I will stick to the subject at hand and not bore you with a debate that belongs somewhere else.

What we can do?? We can start by telling our State law makers that all this drilling needs some tough restrictions or we'll be losing a whole lot more than gas.

I certainly don’t feel that you are the one that needs to apologize to the readers. I think you were right on with your comments. I don’t think most people have any idea just how much or how quickly an Officer will detect about a person’s attitude within just the first few seconds of contact. Even if their mouth says nothing their body language speaks volumes and they can’t seem to do anything to hide or correct it.

I check hundreds of hunters on some days and I can almost always pick out the ones that have an attitude or are going to be a problem within the first few seconds and usually before either of us says a word, just from their body language. Sometimes I can change the tone of it a bit by using good verbal communication techniques but that really only helps to keep the scene from turning dangerous and does little toward changing their attitude. Some people just hate anyone with authority and there is little anyone can do to improve their attitude since we have to deal with them in a less than friendly manner just to accomplish our check or arrest while still keeping the contact as safe as possible.
