I hope this is the right area to post this question...

I have a work associate that has a small farm. He uses the crops to feed his family (to my knowledge he doesn't sell anything he grows). He is having a problem with Deer damaging his crops. Since he does not hunt he asked me to help him get rid of the deer in exchange for a share of the meat.

Before I commit to helping him I want to make sure I am allowed to do so (don't want to risk losing my hunting license)

I have looked on the PGC website, but I have not found any rules about taking deer out of season to prevent crop damage. Is there a special permit needed?

Any assistance is greatly appreciated,

Vince

Don’t do it. You would have to be an employee and he would have to be deriving a livelihood from farming before you or he could shoot a deer for damage.

He should get in touch with is local WCO about his damage problems.

Hey, just use deer repellent sprays..they're safe for plants and for the deer but are effective in preventing them from destroying your property.
