One of my favorite spots to hunt is where 2 or 3 hollows meet. In rifle season I see countless numbers of deer where hollows meet. It seems that they get funneled into where the hollows meet. I usually sit at the top of the meeting point. When there is snow on the ground I look for spot where i can see into all the hollows and wait for the deer to come. The deer are also protected from the wind where hollows meet.

Without a doubt, these are super effective spots for hunting. I have been hunting in hollows for the past four years and every year we get some action. I have built two stands and one blind to cover the area in a triangle configuration. Not only do the deer filter into these areas but they seem calm.

Welcome aboard John. Always good to have more Marines on board. SemperFi and thank you for your service. Sorry, I can't help you with that area you ask about as I'm further north. Glad to hear you've taken up hunting.

John..

i just realized i wont be here after today..so..if you want a good spot to hunt..try state gamelands 235..park at the gate and go back to the end..about 2 miles..scout the bowl..you will find big buck sign back in there...i promise you that.

You will have to get maps of SGL 235..do your homework..get back to the very end of that valley..it bowls up..hike that bowl..scout all over that area..you will surely kill a big one if you do it right and have alittle luck..But i promise you..there are big bucks back in there. The reason is..its remote..people have to walk..and to top it off..there's a 800 acre preserve just on the other side of the mountian..No hunting occurs in there but the Big bucks leave that property and travel..Ive seen 150 ' bucks come off that SGL because of the big bucks leaving that preserve.

Trust me..they are in there...Just sit in your spot all day.

Good Luck [thumbup]

It is really a great to have hunting activity, on the spot where there were a lot of animals to be hunted.
It is such an exciting and challenging activity.
