Oct. 14th I watched a nice eight pointer grunt and move does. Also have watched bucks square up and posture. Watched deer rub and work scrapes. Lots of scrapes. I think things might be on a little early this year. Maybe because of the weather? What do you guys think?

Id say if your seeing ny rut activity now its just anxious impatient , curious younger bucks....Them big boys are laying around gettin beefed up for when it counts and fom my experience them big boys will give a window of oppurtunity of about 3 or 4 days...id say from Nov. 9th to about the 15th or so..of course theres exceptions to the rules and every area is different but from my days of field over the yeras..them big bucks just wait till the time is right....they aint gonna make any irrational moves at this point yet....but somehwere around nov 9th to the 15th or 17th...Them big bucks will jepordize everything about survival and roam.

ya gotta short window of oppurtunity..ya best be there when it counts.

I was out saturday and seen a decent 5 point chase a doe around the woods. The smaller bucks are probly trying to get them a little before the big ol boys rule the rut [Laughing] ....anyways, im sure ready for the rut to come on [Razz]

There not in the rut here atleast most of them arnt yet. I have been seeing quite a few bucks lately but they are usually 2 or 3 together. I saw one thats neck looks like its gettin a lil swollen so maybe he was gettin ready. I think they will be fully in the rut in about 3 to 4 weeks. More like 3 i guess but early november is wat im tryin to say lol.

Nontypical,

its figured by photoperiodism. The amount of daylight in one given day. The rut is based on the Does and when they come into heat.....The bucks are just merely reacting to the their conditions.

Well this week is the week we have been waiting for, those big bucks necks should start swelling up, and only one thing on their mind. (:
