We at last got a bow that I am able to draw back so at last I was able to shot a bow. I have been wanting to try it out for a while now since my boyfriend and our friends are always out in the yard shooting the target and seeming to enjoy it so much. It's like they have there little club and I just get to run in and get drinks and snacks but now I get to be a member too. I was a bit afraid at first because the string touches your face, memories of the ONE time I shot a shotgun with like the biggest load in it that threw me back about a foot and slammed into me so hard my back was bruised from my bones being pushed back thru it was fresh in my mind. I drew back the bow and aimed and closed my eyes when I let off and my arrow went into the dirt, I missed the target by three feet. But I saw that it was not a scary thing so I loaded up again all fumbley my arrow kept coming off my rest but this time I hit the target and by my reaction you would have thought I just killed an elephant or something. I stayed out until it got to dark for me to see I shot about 2 dozen times and I hit the bulls eye about 6 times and kept my arrows in a group of about 10 inches. I was really surprised by how much fun it was and how you get in this zone where you pay all this attention and focus to this one little spot but its fun.

I may go hunting in the future but I will have to get really good before I would even thing of doing that. I love animals and I dont think its fair that people who dont have the proper skills to hunt go hunting and make so many animals suffer. If I wanted to eat something that suffered I would go to the super market. When I start to hunt I want to be sure that I will do right by an animal and give it a propper death.

Very well said Bunny. [thumbup] We need more hunters that thinks like that. You are going to love bow hunting, I have been shooting bows for over 50 yrs. mostly recurve I have a compound bow but it's not as much fun as the recurve and long bow.
Have fun and good hunting. [antlers]
