decided to go rifle hunting for the first time this year. I bought my first rifle the other day. Mosin Nagant 91/30 7.62x54R caliber. i am going to shoot it for the first time tomorrow, I can't wait. It comes with a bayonet, i might hunt with it on. Here are some pictures.

How much did u give for it? And is it all original?
Prety cool though I have seen alot of different rifles carried during deer season but I can honestly say I have never seen a bayonet on one [Laughing]
Get some quality FMJ they should shoot the best for ya.
And we want to see the target.... bayonet holes optional [Razz]

Field dressing deer with a bayonet? That's one way to avoid the deer ticks.

I had my eye on this for a pretty long time. Ever since i saw the movie "enemy at the gates" i wanted to have one. Saw this one on sale and all of it is original. It came with a cleaning kit, leather ammo pouches, bayonet, all from 1943. I shot it for the first time today. Got a pretty decent grouping and was shooting 3 inches high at 100 yards. Pretty soon i am going to mount a scope on it. since it shoots a 7.62x54r cartridge, pretty close to a .308. cost me around 50 cents a round.

thanks guys, yes the rifle does shoot quite nice surprisingly. is there a law for having a bayonet while hunting? any WCO's out there?

First confirmed deer kill by the legendary mosin nagant 91/80 7.62x 54R 203 Grains.

This doe was shot on the last weds of rifle season. 35 yard shot
This is my first deer killed by a gun. (Avid bowhunter) Sorry for the bad quality picture, it was taken from a cell phone.
