I bought the eTrex last fall and need some tech help.
When I call up my map view on the unit there are no towns being displayed.
Any ideas on what is the solution.
Everything else is working as it should.
Thanks
Ghost

What model etrex? I have the Etrex Vista C....Mine will list towns but with out the mapping program its pretty basic as far as detail....Maybe you are zoomed in too much..try zooming out and then scroll around....When on the map screen..you scroll out by pressing the upper top left button on the unit.

Ghost,I have the Vista HCx. The zoom works fine for me, I've been using the devise to waypoint mark, leave cookie-trails, trip computer and everything else adverstised. For some reason my topo, roads, and streams are identified but the unit isn't showing the cities or towns. I have the Garmin Map Source on my hard drive which I downloaded my maps from. It must be something that I've missed, could the declutter have anything to do with it?

I figure most things out either by replacing the parts untill I get it right, pushing buttons until it works, or using a big hammer untill it submits.
The gadget works great but the screen is a little hard to see out in the field.
